Our free drop-in playgroups are geared toward children from ages birth through five. We have both a dynamic indoor space and a fun outdoor area. There are a plethora toys for pretend play, sensory play, and gross motor play, as well as puzzles, books, and musical instruments.
During our open play time children and their caregivers can make new friends, develop vital social and emotional skills, and most importantly, PLAY! Open play is a great opportunity for grown-ups to make new connections as well.
Open play is followed by clean up time, snack time, and an interactive story time with songs and games that provides school-readiness practice for children.
Special Events and Programming
Throughout the year, EFC hosts various special programs, trips, and participates in community events.
Some of our special programs have included visits from Forest Park's Wildlife on Wheels, the bilingual Holas Amigos y Amigos program, and Spirit of the Heart martial arts. We visit Fletcher Farm annually in the fall for hayrides and pumpkin picking. We have gotten to tour the fire station in Easthampton. We periodically have musical guests like Maggie Shar of Little Roots.
We have an annual holiday event with live music and an end-of-the-year picnic with a bounce house. During the summer, we meet weekly at Nonotuck Park in Easthampton.
We host kindergarten readiness events, parenting workshops, and early literacy programming through the Collaborative for Educational Services.
Ages and Stages Questionnaire
We provide an opportunity for you to understand your child's specific development and needs through the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ).
The ASQ can help you understand and support your child's development. Use this online screening tool to discover some of the wonderful things your child has learned and what the next steps are! The ASQ-3 focuses on motor development, while the ASQ:SE-2 focuses on social-emotional development.
After completing the questionnaire, you will be contacted with personalized activities to support your child at home. Contact Angela at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions or support.
